A young teenage girl, of the name Tara Holrook, purchases a mysterious wooden genie's lamp at an antique shop, despite her friend's, Lauren Girson, protests and urges. Once in her attic at home, the lamp glows and unexpectably transports her to a mythical and magical world, where she meets Mideai the friendly sorceress and Hagetha the silent spirit. After her initial shock, Tara then experiences and embarks on a thrilling adventure, accompanied by her two new friends.

Cool, maybe there's an ancient curse on the items!
No, Lauren, it's FINE. What could possibly happen here? Besides, I want to look around.
What-are you wimping out? Well, I'M staying!
{nervously whispers} What are you doing here, Tara? This shop's so... strange and antique. Let's go to the modern shops!
TARA-
HONESTLY, Tara! I don't like the looks of the owner, and the items for sale are just... plain weird! OMINOUS, in fact!
Tara-oh, FINE! {anxiously follows}
Two dollars.
Done! {hands over two dollars and takes genie's lamp}
Quiet, Lauren!
Huh. I want the genie's lamp, please.
Tara-{abandoning her whispers} you really shouldn't buy that-it's eerie and creepy-
Tara-{urgent and worried} I don't think you should-
Back at house...
AAAH! OMG! {gasps and stumbles back} The lamp! It's glowing! IT'S GLOWING!
{whimpers hysterically} Stop it! Stop it, okay? It's all a dream, I know! Stop it! I'm hallucinating; it's a dream and I'll wake up soon!
Wha-wha-
Quiet, Lauren! {angry} You are not in charge of what I buy! I'm taking it, it's cool and harmless!
Hello! {smiles apologetically} I'm Mideai, a sorceress, and this is Hagetha, a spirit. You must be our next visitor! You see, you have just been transported to another mythical world by the genie's lamp.
I understand it's quite a lot to process. Why don't we head inside and make ourself comfortable? Oh, and I mustn't forget! {waves hand cheerfully, and the Tara's vision spins and blackens}
MICE! Wha-
Yes, a terribly lovely family of mice! {fondly pets the mother mouse} You see, I had to shrink you to fit in the crack; please do accept my apology for that sudden movement.
