A prophecy tells King Laius and Queen Jocasta that their son will grow up to kill his father and marry his mother.
Die stranger!
Laius and Jocasta send their son to be killed. Instead, a couple from Corinth decides to adopt him and name him Oedipus.
You cannot pass unless you solve my riddle!

When Oedipus is older, he learns about the prophecy. He thinks it's about his adoptive parents so he runs away to protect them!
While running away, Oedipus fights with a stranger in the street and kills him.
Oedipus reaches a city called Thebes that is being guarded by a sphinx. In order to save Thebes, Oedipus has to solve the sphinx's riddle--or else he'll be eaten!
Oedipus solves the riddle and saves Thebes. As a reward, he gets to marry the recently widowed queen and he becomes the new king!
