Storyboard Text

  • 1. It's just divided into 2.
  • 2. It's hurtful to be labelled as high/low functioning.
  • 3.It's inaccurate.
  • the functioning labels are almost always "low functioning" and "high functioning." the reality is, autism is such a diverse condition, MUCH more diverse than "high" and "low" functioning labels.
  • Autistics labeled high have their Autistic identity invalidated, considering how proud we are of our autism, that hurts. Autistics labeled low are often targeted by hate groups calling them "burdens" which is horrible for anyone to hear including us Autistics.
  • the real Autistic spectrum is circular. there is no more or less Autistic in the real spectrum, and it's RAINBOW! who doesn't like rainbows!? it acknowledges all the differences Autistics have and unites us at the same time. this is the real spectrum.
