- I'm so happy to be free from Mexico! Remember the Alamo!
- Texas seems to be up for grabs now...Should we annex Texas?
- I don't know. The annexation of Texas would mean war with Mexico. It would also add another slave state.
- Well, I think Texas would only help us reach our goal of Manifest Destiny. It would also keep the balance of slavery / free states.
- Can we be annexed to the Union President Polk?

- Hey Mexico! Now that Texas has applied to the Union, would you be willing to sell us California, New Mexico, and land near the disputed southern border of Texas? All for $30 million! Quite the bargain, I must say!
