YOU GOT BIT BY A CAT? Ana, you have rabies!!
The rabies virus can be transmitted through an infected animal. Rabies can infect any warm-blooded animal. Above, is a cat that has the rabies virus. The cat is nearby the town of "Health and Wealth"
Ana had lived in the village her whole life and had never gotten sick. However, one day, she was going for one of her daily strolls and felt uneasy. She felt numbness in her face and tingling near the bite of a cat she had encountered a couple of days ago. She decided to tell her father.
Ana's dad showed her the way rabies spreads and how to treat it.
*EMT* After we get the shots, you'll be fine!!!
In his book, it showed an image of a lady who had gotten bit by rabies infested cat. The next image showed the virus and how it infects its host cell.
The virus penetrates the nerves around the bite and makes their way around the nervous system. Through the lytic cycle, the virus attaches itself to the cell and enters the cell. It then proceeds to put its genetic information in the cell. It ultimately replicates itself and releases itself to the rest of the body. With this, comes the spread of the virus which reaches the brain. When the brain is infected, the virus infects things in the body such as the eyes, kidneys, etc.
The rabies virus can be prevented through the vaccine which allows the body to create its own antibodies to fight the virus. The vaccine is also used after getting exposed to the virus and it stops the virus from progressing.
