- Assimilation: When the Spanish conquered parts of South America, the natives were forced off of their land and to learn the Spanish language.
- Thanksgiving originated in England, and gradually diffused around the world to the United States, Germany, Liberia, Japan, Norfolk Island, Caribbean, Canada, etc.
