- The Patriots fought on home soil which was a huge advantage for them because they liked to retreat, the use their surroundings and attack when least expected. So, knowing the land was super helpful. George Washington helped lead the Patriots through the Revolutionary War
- The women would normally stay home and cook, as well as make sure the village was in good shape. They would normally not be a part of any actually battles, but under some circumstances they did
- During the war of 1812 the Native Americans joined forces with the redcoats because the Native Americans were planning their own war against the USA. They did not agree with some of the things written in the Declaration of Independence
- The British Ruler declared all slaves and African Americans to be freed but to be sent out into war. The African Americans fought in the Battle of Saratoga, Valley Forge, Battle of Yorktown and the Battles of Lexington and Concord. The African Americans fought shoulder-to-shoulder to free the whites

- The British had Native Americans and African Americans by their side during the war. The colonists had France as an ally, who helped fight off the redcoats as well as provide the colonists with food and supplies
- The colonists come out of the Revolutionary War victorious, and officially earn their freedom.
