- The birling's were enjoying a family meal to celebrate the engagement of Gerald and Sheila when an inspector calls with bad news that a young girl has died after committing suicide. The inspector mentions the name Eva smith and no ones knows of her yet ....

- the inspector than moves onto Sheila and questions her on about milliards and he new job she the realizes that she was the one who complained just because she was jealous that she looked better than her and got upset and that she turned to another job to get money

- The inspector than talked to Gerald and he recognizes her new name daisy he met her at a bar and let her stay at his friends home for a bit until she has to go they had an a fair and Sheila gets upset
- it is than found out that eva smith had a baby and asked mrs birling for help however she denies after eva uses the name birling the child was eriks has he was in a relationship with her and gave her some money he stole form mr birling
- the inspector that leaves and they start to discuss things and come to the conclusion he wasn't an inspector they get a call that a girl had just died they are left to wonder what had happened
