- The battle of Lexington and Concord was the start of the war between the British and the Patriots. The first shot of the war was called "the shot heard around the world.
- By declaring themselves an independent nation, the American colonists were able to confirm an official alliance with the Government of France and obtain French assistance in the war against Great Britain.
- Hi! I'm Tomas Jefferson and we are about to sigh the Declaration of Independence!
- While the men fight, women have to watch children and bring water to people. We are also nurses. We have followed the army since the beginning. Now we are in Battle of Saratoga.
- George Washington led his troops to Valley Forge. While spending six months there, the Patriots turned in to a disciplined fighting force.
- We won!
- The colonists won the war at the battle of Yorktown! The African Americans were sad because they were promised their freedom if the won.
- Where free!
- After the war the colonists took all of the Native Americans home soil. Forcing them to move west.
