  • It was the night of the wedding of King Pelias and the sea nymph Thetis.
  • All the gods and goddeses of Greece were invited to the wedding except Eris, the goddess of chaos.
  • Eris decided to throw a golden apple at the guests.
  • Paris! I need your help! Decide who gets the golden apple!

  • A powerful god called Zeus decided that the apple could go to Athene, the goddess of wisdom, Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty, and Hera, queen of all the gods and wife of Zeus. 
  • Zeus did not want to decide who would get the apple, so he got a man named Paris to do it for him.
