  • Leo, 10, Martha, 9, and Floyd, 6, are walking to the mill for a long day of work. Today of Floyd's first day, and he's pretty excited. However, the factory is not as fun as he thinks it is.
  • Get to work!
  • What's your name?
  • To raise awareness about child labor, a man named Lewis Hine went around the country taking pictures of children working.
  • Oh my god. These kids are worked to the bone!
  • Martha.
  • Hine's pictures starting getting published in newspapers. Slowly, they were raising awareness about how hard children work for little pay.
  • These poor children!
  • In 1938, child labor was outlawed. Lewis Hine is a big reason why children today can go to school instead of working in factories.
