Alex, John isn't real. You're hallucinating again. I think we should see a phycologist.
Alex, schizophrenia is a mental illness that doesn't have a cure. However you are able to manage the illness by relieving yourself from stress, taking medication and attending therapy sessions.
This first scene shows the boy suffereing from Schizophrenia, Alex, talking to his hallucinated friend, John. They are talking reguarly like normal freinds would which shows how realistic these hallucinations can be.
Today we will try a therapy called CBT or Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. I will help learn how to deal with the hallucinations and voices you see and hear.
In the second scene we see Alex's sister telling him that John isn't really there and that he is hallucinating again. She also recomends that he should start seeing a phychologist to help with his illness.
Do you see your friend John at the moment? If you do focus on something else and try to ignore him. Okay.
I see him but I''l try my best.
The third scene shows Alex talking to a physchologist about his schizophrenia. The physcologist reccomends a few good ways to manage his illness like removing yourself from stressful situations and attending therpy sessions.
That's great. I'll also give you some medication which will also help you manage with the illness. See you next week.
In the fourth scene the physcologist tells Alex that a therapy called CBT or Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is a great way to deal with his hallucinations.
In the fifth scene the pyschologist explains to Alex that when he sees someone that he has hallucinated that he should focus on something else and try to ignore what he sees. This is CBT and over time people affected are able to completly forget their hallucinations are there.
In the final scene we see that Alex has stopped seeing John and that the therapy is working. The physcologist also tells him that he will give Alex some medication to also help manage his illness.
He's not there anymore. This is really helpful. Thanks a lot.
