POLYNOMIAL
Degree 0 - constant Monomial Degree 1 – linear bionomial Degree 2 – quadratic monomial Degree 3 – cubic Trinomial Degree 4 – quartic binomial Degree 5 – quintic with 4 terms
5xy^2-3x +5yx^3-3 Is a polynomial
Polynomial can have as many terms as needed, but not an infinite numbers of them.
A polynomial can have constants variables and exponents but never divided by a variable.
3xy^-2 is not a Polynomial
(3x^4-3) - (3x-3x^4) The Answer is 6x^4-6x
Example is If you have (2xy)(4y)
Multiplying Polynomials. When you multiply two terms with the same base, you keep the base and add the exponents.
Pronomial names linear polomial linear binomial linear trinomial qudraic polomial qudratic bionomial qudratic trinomial cubic pynomial cubic bionomial cubic trinomial quintic polynomial
THere are also special product Ex. (x-4)(x+4) (x+4)(x-4) =x2+4x−4x−16 =x2−16
(2xy)(4y) 2*4=8 xy*y=xy2 Answer is 8xy2
Thereis also Squaring Bionomial Ex. (3x - 2)2 (3x−2)(3x−2) =(3x+−2)(3x+−2) =9x2−6x−6x+4 =9x2−12x+4
