  • I-Imagery
  • "Don't be afraid, I have a plan!"
  • The theme here is dark thoughts on how the girl could be perfect and constructing a plan so she can be perfect.
  • S-Style
  •  The authors word choice is very unusual I think. It's dark ad gloomy and then when he sees her he can't wait to fix her and make her perfect. The way she should be. It's a lot of foreshadowing.
  • T-Theme
  • Hawthorne paints a picture on how he had planned and planned to get rid of her mark and he finally gets to take it away. He seems very excited, but she is a little hesitant at first. She really wants to please him.
  • The structure of Hawthorne's wording is outstanding. Anyone could tell this was written a long time ago; however he writes this story so the reader can understand and comprehend what is going on.
  • The author has a theme of no one is perfect, you're supposed to love all of their flaws. Don't change the person. When you change a person, that can lead to serious damage.
