- I'm Pearl, and I'm Jewish. Yes I love being Jewish, but people do seem to have very clear thoughts on what you're supposed to look like and act like when you're a Jew.
- If you're Jewish then why don't you have a huge nose?
- I'm Jewish
- Oh so you're not allowed to touch men?
- Your hair is straight... For a Jew.
- Do you want to have your friend over for the cedar tonight?
- No, they would think that a cedar is so weird, and it would just confirm some of the stereotypes they already have.
- Even though I want to see my friends, I'm afraid they will think my family's passover cedar is strange, and they will make fun of me.
- Instead of shying away from my religion, I wanted to have my friend over and have a fun night.
