  • Taiga biome
  • The taiga biome. by: Sadie Shaeffer
  • Abiotic Factors
  • The abiotic factors includes temperature, sunlight, soil, air, water. In taiga biome the climate is marked by cold winter and cool brief summer season. The winter months are always below freezing point.
  • Biotic Factors
  • Some examples of a biotic factor is bears, foxes, squirrels, deer, coyotes
  • Predator and Prey
  • Symbiosis
  • Invasive Species/Competition
  • One example of predator and prey in the taiga is the relationship between the Snowshoe Hare and the Bobcat. In this situation, the Snowshoe Hare is the prey and the Bobcat is the predator. The role that this predation has is that the Bobcat is keeping the number of Snowshoe Hares reasonable. If this were to stop happening, the amount of Snowshoe Hares would drastically increase.
  • An example is a squirrel living in the hole of a tree.
  • An invasive species in the ecosystem would beby cutting down the trees for paper and also mining the minerals that can be found in the biome.
