  • I am Julius Caesar! I am going to help expand the roman empire.
  • The government of the Roman Republic was somewhat like the US government today. The government consisted of 3 branches, each branch having a little more power than one. The Senate was main branch of the government and was run by the patricians. The Senate passed laws and controlled the state finances. The Assembly branch was run by the plebeians. The Assembly would cast all votes. The Consul branch were people that did what the Senate wanted them to.

  • The Punic Wars had a huge impact on the Roman Empire. The Punic Wars originally started due to the Roman Republic wanting to expand their land. There were 3 wars that started from 264 BCE to 133 BCE. During the wars Rome ended up conquering a little piece of Europe. This is why the wars helped expand the Roman Empire. But since it helped the republic grow into an empire, some people got richer but some sank into poverty.

  • The roman republic fell after the Punic wars when the government didn't work out for the empire. The long years of war taught the Romans that the way to get wealth and power was to conquer an army. The government didn't do any good for the Roman empire and soon a patrician named Julius Caesar became Rome's powerful dictator. Caesar got assassinated. Many of these dictators ended up being killed in a brutally way.

  • The rise of the Roman Empire started when the Punic Wars ended. Many people either got extremely rich or sank into poverty. Since the government didn't work out for the empire, Rome had supreme dictators that ruled the land. One of these rulers was Julius Casaer. Many people didn't like the whole "dictator" idea. The Roman government was not demolished, but set aside for suggestions.
  • The Pax Romana was a state of peace that lasted from 27 BCE to 180 AD. This was also known as the "golden age" for Rome. The Pax Romana started when leader Caesar Augustus started his rule. This caused stability in Rome without any trouble with other civilizations. Many goods from other nations got imported and many people traded The Pax Romana ended more than almost 200 years later when Marcus Aurelius died.
  • Christianity is the main religion of Rome. At that time, the Jewish wished that a messiah (anointed leader) would come and drive the Romans out of their homeland. Jesus taught at Galilee and wondered if the messiah had come. Jesus taught others to respect your enemies and gave speeches about God. many of his followers became upset when he talked about death, and said it was coming soon for him. Soon, he was executed but got resurrected.
