The story of Prometheus
Storyboard Text
- You are not banished Prometheus and Epimetheus.
- Wow! Thank you!!
- After the war between The Gods and The Titans, the world was now ready for mankind. Prometheus and his brother Epimetheus were spared of imprisonment because they did not fight alongside their fellow Titans
- Wait, that's illegal!
- They were tasked of creating mankind. Epimetheus took over of giving animals a positive trait but he lacks foresight, and he saw there was nothing left for humans, so he turned to his brother for help. Prometheus took over of creating humans and seek a way to make them superior, for he loved them more than the Olympians, who banished his family to Tartarus.
- Prometheus stole fire for humans and gave it to them, to help them in life's struggles. The Titan also taught them to use this valuable gift and so civilization began.
- Thank you, man.
- Seeing this, Zeus was outraged, and he devised a plan to punish Prometheus
- There was a prophecy that spoke of the goddess Thetis giving birth to a son that would overthrow his father Zeus. Prometheus and Zeus knew this, Zeus doesn't know who the goddess was but Prometheus does. He refuse to tell who the goddess is, so Zeus torture the secret out of him. He was chained to Mt. Caucasus, where everyday an eagle will devour his liver
- For thousands of years, Prometheus suffered and had his flesh devoured. He knew that if another immortal would go to the underworld then he would be free. Until one day Heracles found his way to Mt. Caucasus, he shot the ferocious bird and he also accidentally shot his friend Chiron, a centaur, who begged to go to the underworld. Prometheus agreed and he was freed. He was welcomed back by the Olympians.
