The Milvian Bridge stands in Rome over the muddy Tiber river. Here is where the Battle took place that would be a turning point in the story of Christianity and the history of Europe
It is was October 312 AD. Constantine and his troops marched towards Rome to do battle with his opponent Maxentius. It was the greatest challenge the gifted young general would ever face.
Constantine stopped to plan the battle, but instead of going to the roman gods he chose to pray to the christian god himself and with this prayer he was granted a vision of a glowing cross in the sky and the words "in hoc signo vinces" which means "in the sign you will conquer".
Constantine and his whole army were amazed. That night in a dream it was confirmed this was Jesus Christ he was dealing with.
Constantine accepted his vision. He went out and adopted the sign onto the flag of his army and their Armour, and with this he went to war and won the battle even with the odds against them.
With Gods Guide i will Succeed
Constantine with his new victory now believed that the reason they won was because the God of the Christians had directed the battle to their favor
