Storyboard Text

  • It was 1381 and the current king as Richard II of England. He was only 14. life for the peasants had just became better after the Black Death high wages and more freedom.
  • But their happiness did not last long because the king had set high taxes called poll tax. This is where everyone had to pay the same amount of money.

  • THIS IS UNFAIR!
  • In a short amount of time the peasants began to become furious and upset. 
  • So the king wanted to go meet with the peasants but the peasants was angry with the king's adviser like sir Robert Hales. He took a boat to the peasants camp. The sight he saw scared the young king and so he turned the boat and went down the river, the peasants were even more furious.
  • After the king's insulting actions chase began. Legal records fro burned and prisons were opened. They then broke in the tower and they took Sir Robert Hail and the bishop of London and executed them. They then stuck their heads on spikes and put them on London bridge.
  • It was the final confrontation was at Simthfeild and the leader of the peasant Revolt,Watt Tyler went up to the king and with no respect and told him what he wanted. The king then agree with Wat Tyler and when Wat Tyler was about to leave one of the king's men yelled out an insult. they had a fight and during the fight Was Tyler was stabbed. Richard never kept his promise and the rest of the leaders were executed.
