  • No, I'm tired of the public life.
  • After the fight General Wayne had the natives sign The Treaty Of Greenville. This allowed the U.S. to claim most of the land in the Northwest Territory. It also guaranteed the safety of citizens there. In exchange the natives got $20,000 worth of goods and acknowledgment of the land they still owned.
  • Washington's Farewell #2
  • Before I leave remember to work out differences, protect your independence, and stay out of debt.
  • From 1791-1794 Alexander Hamilton made a tax on whiskey to try to pay back America's war debt. However that meant farmers made less money because they made and transported whiskey. Farmers lashed out over the tax making it known as the Whiskey Rebellion. Washington brought soldiers to fight the farmers but they all fled, no one got hurt.
  • In 1797 George Washington resigned from presidency. In his final speech he talked about the dangers of conflict at home, conflict with other nations, and also said political unity was a factor to a nation's success.
  • Before he left office Washington warned about a lot of things as shown above.
