- after awakening from a nap, Lester wanted to check his watch but it was so dark that he would have to light a match and he didn't want to start a fire.
- Lester was confident about his survival until he heard a train whistle in the silence.
- The 11:59 had caught hold of Lester's soul.
- Lester's old friend Tip came from beyond to remind him that you cant escape the last ride of the 11:59.
- The 11:59 crashed into Lester's apartment crushing everything, including his heart.
