Medusa was a very beautiful maiden who lived in the city of Athens in Greece. She was considered to be the most prettiest girl in the city. She was very proud of this title and kept boasting her beauty to anyone she met.
Medusa bragged to the cobbler that her hair glowed brighter than the sun. She told the blacksmith's son that her skin was purer than fresh fallen snow. She commented to the butcher that her eyes were bluer than the sea on a a lovely day
She as a priestess of Athena, and so she vowed not to marry or have children. She had a happy life in the Parthenon temple with her friends. The Parthenon temple was the largest temple in all the land honouring Athena.
