For each month I have decided to take up a different chapter of the book: September - Figure Problems; October - Hair; November - Modeling Tricks; December - Skin Problems & Makeup; January - Clothes & What to Wear; February - Good Grooming & Away From Home; March- Money & On the Job; April - Popular Attitude: Look Pretty/Be Pretty, Are You Shy?, & Personality; May- It's a Date & Be a Hostess.
Some days were tough, but there were other days where I felt like the happiest person in the world. On Valentine's Day, I got ten whole cards from different people throughout the school!
One day, the speaker announced that my teacher, Mr. Lawrence had died from cancer. He had not been in school for the past couple of months, and so I went to visit his house two weeks before. He was the only teacher who really understood me. I could hardly contain my tears.
Attention students, Mr. Lawrence died of cancer this morning. Let us have a moment of silence in his memory.
Despite how sad I was, I decided not to show it at school and continued to make more friends. I still wasn't fully popular yet but I was getting there!
Finally, it was the eighth grade prom. I had followed Betty's instructions all year and I was ready to have fun! At first, no body wanted to start dancing so I decided to take a leap and be the first to dance. Soon, everyone was dancing along!
At home, I started thinking about what being popular truely meant.
I think it is about who you are as a person and how you treat others. If you are kind, you can make more friends and you will be happy with you life
