  • Amelia Earhart was an American aviator who set many flying records. She became the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean.
  •  She broke women's altitude record when she rose to 14,000 feet in her plane.  She was also First woman to fly across the Atlantic which took 20 hours and 40 min.
  • She had great importance because at the time in 1932 there were few available jobs and when she flew across the ocean many women we inspired to try to get jobs that women usually cant get.
