  • you guys are focusing to much on science, and reason
  • Little do they know science and reasoning is why life now a days is so advanced.
  • The Enlightenment
  • We need to have reasoning.
  • Documents
  • So this is how documents like the declaration was created.

  • Did you know the First Great Awakening was a religious movement? This movement was more of a emotional religious conversion. These were Christian revivals that went through the 13 colonies in the 1730s and 1740s trying to convince people that they were too focused on science, reason, and politics. lets go learn about the enlightenment.
  • French and Indian War
  • After the First Great Awakening, the enlightenment took place during the late 17th and 18th century. The enlightenment include the rise of concepts such as reason, liberty, and scientific methods people need something to believe in.
  • Taxes and Acts
  • By passing this tax act you the colonist will have to pay for goods.
  • Oh so that's why my 2 dollar ice cream was 3 dollar's, because of the taxing.

  • I Ebenezer Mackintosh promise to lead this protest group to success.
  • 40 years after the enlightenment France and Great Britain go to war over land.

  • The end result of the war resulted in tens of thousand's of dollars worth of damages, Britain decided to pay for the the French and Indian war by passing a tax act to the colonist. Taxes such as the stamp act and sugar act where put into play which made everyday things more expensive. Colonists protested the streets and boycotted.
  • As the colonist continued to boycott taxing on goods and disobeyed the king this was known as the First Continental Congress. A group of male colonist used threats and violence to overthrown the British government and were know as the sons of liberty. In 1765 a group of women had the same and were know as the Daughters of Liberty.
