- I am giving you the right to tax colonists on their tea.
- Some colonist had started smuggling illegal tea, and other colonists were buying tea directly from British markets.
- The King passed a law called the Tea Act that allowed a company the right to monopoly tea.
- A group of people called the Sons of Liberty met up and came up with a plan to show Britain that they do not want to be taxed.
- Intolerable Acts
- Men from the Sons of Liberty dressed up as Native Americans and dumped hundreds of boxes of tea into the harbor.
- Soldiers find the tea and are furious. They immediately send a letter to the kind to tell him what has happened.
- The King finds out and passes a law called the Intolerable Acts. They stated that colonists would have to ay for all the tea they threw overboard.
