- on April 19,1775 British soldiers marched to concord after they won in Lexington to gather supplies. Paul Revere and William Dawes overheard and ran to go tell the other colonist. they warned the colonist and they prepared. when the British soldiers arrived they were met with no weapons to be found and by the colonies minutemen. The colonies defeated the British and were forced to retreat.
- battle of Saratoga
- on June 17,1775 the colonies militia set up outside Boston on breeds hill. They were behind a barrior and they were fighting uphill while the British fighting downhill. the caption of the militia William Prescott told them not to shoot until you see the whites of their eyes which helped them because they could have better aim. The British won the battle but they suffered more casualties which gave colonist a confident boost.
- Valley Forge
- on Decmeber 26, 1776 in New jersey George Washington led troops to a surprise attack on the hessians the day after Christmas. the hessians were caught off guard because they were hungover from the night before. the soldiers where covinced to keep going because a huge storm coming from behind. the colonist were able to capture 800 hessians which marks first major victory for them.

- the battle of Saratoga happend in New york and its when the British tried to attack the colonist But they ended up getting surrounded . Benedict Arnold Helped a lot but got wounded in battle. The British and Hessians Surrendered. And the French decided to join the war and help americans.
- Colonies set up a camp for the winter and their was barely any supplies and there were diseases spreading. George Washington Told them to purposely get infected to provide immunity to it. Baron Steuben Came from Germany and helped train the colonist.
