- Ralph and Piggy leave to see Jack and his tribe. Before they approach them, they see a pig roasting over a fire, although most of the boys are done eating their meat and are drinking from coconuts. They see Jack sitting on a log in the middle of everything, with pieces of meat, fruit, and coconuts on leaves near him.
- "Take them some meat!"(1)
- Ralph and Piggy approach the rest of the boys. There is a silence between all of the boys. Eventually Jack turns and looks at them. Ralph turns away, and Sam thinks he is looking at him for leaving to stay with Jack, so he giggles.
- Awkwardly, Ralph points at a palm tree, whispers something to Piggy, then they both laugh. They both start walking, and two of the boys come running towards them with meat.
- "Has everyone eaten as much as they want?"(1)
- More please...
- "Has everyone eaten as much as they want?"(1_)
- The boys holding the meat bump into Piggy, and he starts yelling and jumping around. The rest of the boys, including Ralph, start laughing, and all the boys are united again.
- Jack stand up, and orders two of the boys to give Ralph and Piggy meat, which they both gladly take.
- While some of the boys are still eating, Jack asks if everyone is done. Piggy continues to eat more and more. After no immediate response to his question. Jack asks again in a more impatient tone, and the boys finished up eating.
