- Good Day Everyone,My name is Samantha Perez; I am a Filipina living the New York life for over thirty years. I currently work at LaGuardia Community College as a Student Success Mentor. I facilitate a studio hour where I familiarize students with the technology needed to succeed in their academics.
- My long-term goal is to be an Art Therapist for recreational therapy. Before pursuing that with my master's, I want to understand the health field more and use it to establish myself before fulfilling my goal. I have over fifteen years in Customer Service and Administrative work with seven years in a Supervisor and manager role. However, none of this is in a health care setting. I am confident that emerging myself in health care before pursuing the role will be beneficial and give me an upper hand.
- I am also the sole parent to two beautiful children. Ramses, who is neurodiverse, just turned nine years old. Dalaila is five years old. Our journey through life came with many obstacles as we searched for a community that accepts Ramses as the amazing boy he is. It is still an ongoing process that requires a lot of advocacy, adaptability, and perseverance. My children are my number one supporters, and I am on a mission to make a safe place where they do not need me to advocate for their rights. As well as for other children in need within the community.
