- Armando, and Seydou work on a cacao farm. The more cacao pods they harvest, the better chances they have of staying alive. they barley get any food.And barley any water.
- One day a girl comes to work on the farm. No girl has ever came to the farm, until now. Kahaija is a feisty girl full of hope of escaping. With every chance she gets, she runs.
- Armando has never dreamed of running, but when Seydou gets hurt. He realizes the best thing to do is to get Seydou out of the farm

- One day,Khadija, Seydou, and Armando, see a chance to run. They go tearing through the trees and plants until they see a truck. They decide to hitch a ride, and ride to saftey.
