I have a dream that one day down in Alabama — with its vicious racists, with its Governor having his lips dripping with the words of interposition and nullification — one day right there in Alabama, little black boys and black girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and white girls as sisters and brothers.

King had lead a march that lead into his infamous speech. Dr. King grew up learning from his dad who was also an American Baptist Pastor and a civil rights leader.

Like any son or dad Dr. King Jr looked up to his dad and followed in his footsteps becoming a pastor and civil rights leader who would end up becoming a civil rights role model to some.

Dr. King as a civil rights leader would lead protest such as the "Montgomery Bus Boycott."

His speech and dream was to try and end segregation and discrimination. Not only was he famous for this one speech but had led most of all civil rights movements.
Over the 250,000 people who were there around 60,000 were white.
