"We heard that you are keeping enemy prisoners here at this location so we have been ordered to search around your home!"

The two escaped prisoners, Joe and David, have to sleep and stay in the Crivelli's cellar until they can get back with their men.
"You were a hero, bud... a true hero."
German soldiers are ordered to search the Crivelli home in search of the prisoners but the prisoners were hidden and so they were not found. Paolo's dog tried to protect the prisoner who was hidden inside the dog house and was shot by the German soldiers.
"We made it brother!"
"We sure did lad."
While World War Two was occurring Paolo and the prisoners were trying to sneak towards their men in the middle of the night because the enemies were gaining too much suspicion. David gets shot by the enemy and is sadly left behind.
"Happy to see you my son."
"Dad? You'reback!"
Paolo and Joe get to the Partisans then Paolo gets back home sadly to see that his dog was gone forever.
Joe and David meet up after reuniting with the Partisans.
Paolo's father and his family finally get to be together again after being in that tragic war. His father had been part of the war and had been gone for years.
