Prison Reform- 1841 is when Dorothea Dix life changed, when she decided to teach school at a jail. The kids were charged as adult criminals and punishments so, they were put in a jail cell and were hooked to chains.
Kids now days aren't charged with adult crimes, they just get in trouble or go to juvy. The Reformers were Dorothea Dix, She continued to campaigning for the rest of her life by the time she died kids were no longer punished with adult punishments.
For two years Dorothea gathered information about jails and visited many of them. Than she made a paper and reported it to the Massatuchets State Legislature. She wanted to call attention to stop kids getting the punishments of adult crimes.
