  • Start Screen
  • Sprites
  • Beginning the Game
  • When you open the game this is the screen that appears. The game is set in space on the Moon. Pico can be seen and also the name of the game, 'Polygons in Space' can be seen on the stage. To begin the game the green flag needs to be clicked.
  • Practising Spaceship Movement
  • These are the sprites that are in the game. They include Pico, the Spaceship, the laser sprite, a triangle sprite, a square sprite, a pentagon sprite, a hexagon sprite and an octagon sprite. All these shapes included in the Technical Graphics topic of Polygons.
  • Shooting the Different Polygons
  • Once the green flag is pressed Pico begins talking. He welcomes the player to the game and invites them to click on him to learn more. He also gives the player the option to skip the games instructions. Once Pico is clicked he explains how to control the spaceship (left and right arrow keys, spacebar), the score you need to win (10) and how many lives the ship has (4).
  • Losing Lives and Winning or Losing the Game
  • Once Pico has explained the instructions the player is given the opportunity to get used to the controls of the spaceship. The player moves the ship form right i left using the arrow keys and shoots the laser using the spacebar. Pico then reappears and instructs the player to click the arrow on the screen to begin playing the game.
  • When the purple arrow is pressed the player is brought straight into the game. The stage changes and the Polygon shaped sprits begin falling from the top of the screen. The players objective is to shoot the falling Polygons to get a score and to avoid letting them hit the ship causing the player to lose a life.
  • If one of the falling Polygon hits the spaceship before the player shoots it then one of the engines of the ship will turn red signaling that the player is after losing a life. If the player is hit four times the lose the game and have to restart. However, if a player gets a score of ten by shooting ten Polygons they win the game.
