- Do you think that a rocket can be launched in VACUUM also
- NO. I think it is not possible.
- Why do you feel like that?
- Ummmm.......
- Because Launching of rocket is based on the Principle of Newton's Third law of motion that says "EVERY ACTION HAS AN EQUAL AND OPPOSITE REACTION"
- You are ABSOLUTELY RIGHT!But...But tell me one thing....why do you feel that launching a rocket is not possible in vacuum?
- Because in a rocket the gases which are produced due to combustion of fuels come out with jet speed through a small orifice at the back and exerts an action force on ground and in turn the ground exerts a reaction force on rocket which helps the rocket to move. In vacuum, there is no ground. So....
- Ooopsss........you are having a WRONG CONCEPT about it. The emitted gases don't exert the action force on ground rather it is exerted on the body of rocket exerts the action force on the emitted gases and in turn the gases exert reaction force on rocket
