  • you know I can’t live without you *sobs* my love runs deep in our soul.
  • My love, you came for me! Ah! My dear, my time has come to be united to you but to be separated forever. Forgive me my love for the unbearable sorrow I have given to you, I wish you may still live happily without me *sobs*
  •  Oh please Señor may we be granted a proper Catholic marriage with my beloved wife?

  •  May you Señor Rizal & Señora Bracken be happily wedded in the eyes of God. You may kiss the bride. 
  • In December 29, 1896, Rizal was on his way to Cuba when he got arrested by the Guardia Civil.

  • A mock trial is staged after Rizal reached the Philippines, it is decided that Rizal will be executed through firing squad
  • *whispers* consummatum est (It is finished)
  • During this time, Rizal gave Josephine a last parting gift which was a book called, ” Imitation of Christ,” by Thomas Kempis. On the first page, he wrote, “To my dear unhappy wife Josephine Bracken, Jose Rizal.”

  • Rizal died leaving his wife Josephine, a widow in the age of 20.
  • 7am of Dec. 30th 1896
  • He was secretly buried in Paco Cemetery Manila, sadly his family failed to locate his remains
  • Following the death of Rizal, there are other rumors that Josephine joined the insurgents and even participated in killing a Spanish soldier. She eventually returned to Hongkong in May.
