  • This type of war and attacks made everything confusing.
  • Are we winning or are we losing????
  • This caused the Vietnamese to start a "revolution" what ended up in a war against the french.
  • It also started making american people doubt about it, but none of the presidents wanted to give up.
  • BUT, WHY? 
  • Ho Chi MIhn is not our allie anymore, now he is a comunist agresor and we have to fight against the DOMINO THEORY* and the growing of the SU in Europe.
  • the theory that a political event(spread of comunisim) in one country will cause similar events in neighboring countries, like a falling domino causing an entire row of upended dominoes to fall.
  • 
  • The United Nations tried to solve this during the Geneva Accords by making VIetnam independent and dividing it into two States (North and South Vietnam) by the 17th paralel.
  • This ended the war with France but started one between states
  • The North was leaded by Ho Chi MihnCOMUNIST

  • The South was leaded by Ngo Dinh DiemANTI-COMUNIST
