Exposition: Tony visits Aling Atang's house to meet with Kikay, his childhood friend and secret fiance, who recently came back all the way from New York. They are joined by Totoy and Nena later on.
Conflict - Kikay adapts the American lifestyle and is now called "Francesca." Tony and his friends dislike this change as Kikay seems like she has changed and forgotten her old personality and identity as Kikay.
Rising Action - Tony reveals that he got engaged with Nena while Kikay was gone since she wasn't responding to his letters.
Climax - Kikay and Nena engage in a fight over Tony's love. They tell Kikay of how she has changed and how their friends and family want to embrace the Kikay that they used to know.
Falling Action - Totoy stops the fight and escorts Nena out of the house. Tony and Kikay are now alone in the house, so he opens up with the topic of their secret engagement before she left for New York. Kikay didn't want to listen she thinks of the engagement as a "childish act." Tony confronts her and tells her that going to New York didn't bring her any good.
Resolution - Kikay realizes how adapting the New Yorker lifestyle might make her feel like royalty, but it ultimately won't make her happy. She asks Tony for his forgiveness and promises that she will go back to being the Kikay and not Francesca.
