When one has such a powerful dream, we must do all we can to make it true. The tree must be uprooted.
There's something down there! It's glittering like water!
When the Chief's wife fell, she grasped a branch but she slipped, leaving her with only a handful of seeds as she fell, down, down, down.
Far below, in the waters, some of the birds and animals looked up. Two swans flew up and caught the woman. Slowly they began to bring her down toward the water. They noticed that she didn't have webbed feet. So the birds and animals decided that someone would have to dive down the waters and bring up the Earth.
All of the animals tried to reach the bottom, but no one could. "I will bring up the Earth or die trying" said a tiny muskrat. She dove and swam and swam and swam. At last, just as she was becoming unconscious, she reached out one small paw and grasped at the bottom, barely touching it before she floated up, almost dead.
The animals brought the Muskrat over to the Great Turtle and placed her paw against his back. The tiny bit of Earth fell on the back of the Turtle. It started growing and growing and growing until it became the whole world.
