The story starts in 2081 in the United States. George and Hazel are living in a society where everyone is equal in every way. If anyone has an ability that makes them better than others, they are forced to be handicapped to neutralize that ability.
George and Hazel's son was blessed with many above average abilities and was taken to prison for trying to revolt against the government. The government has a lot of vigilance toward anyone who is attempting to threaten the government. Harrison is a very dangerous man. George and Hazel's TV program was interrupted with the announcement of Harrison escaping prison.
What just happened?
um... I'm not sure.
Harrison declares himself Emperor and takes one of the ballerinas to be his Empress. They lifted the weights off of their feet and began jumping synchronized. Everyone was in consternation at the sight. Then the Handicapper General, Diana Moon Glampers, arrives and shoots them both with her shotgun.
Harrison and the ballerina were dead and winced to the ground. Then the TV blacked out. The rebellion from Harrison had ended. Hazel cowered at the sight and turned to talk to George who had gone to the kitchen for a beer.
George came back and Hazel was crying. George asked her why she had been crying and Hazel couldn't remember. They had both forgotten everything that had just happened.
