The Pellegra Story

- Not so long ago scientists were trying to find the cure for Pellegra. This was a rash that had a butterfly like shape. It will make you develop reddish, rough skin and go insane.
- Pellegra is caused by lack of vitamins in the diet
- He decided to do an experiment to test out his hypothesis. He tested it out on 11 prisoners. He made them eat their normal diets which consisted of lots of corn products and lots of pork.
- After Dr. Goldberg's experiment we learned that Pellegra is caused by the lack of vitamins in a diet. It depends on the amount of nutrients in a diet because if the prisoners' diet was so bad and unhealthy, they were likely to get Pellegra.

- Dr. Goldberg had an idea that Pellegra was caused by lack of nutrition in the diet and lack of vitamins.
- 7 out of 11 of the prisoners got Pellegra. They got the rash and started to go insane. That was the majority of the prisoners tested so Dr. Goldberg's hypothesis was proven correct!
- After his experiment the world learned how to prevent Pellegra. All you had to do is eat a well balanced diet. Not too much fatty foods and lots of corn. Overall, they found out the key to curing Pellegra and a way to stop it is you eat a healthy diet.
