In an attempt to kill King Cogidubnus, Memor got Cephalus poisoned and killed.
After Cephalus had died, one of the slaves handed the king a letter, which Cephalus had written.

The letter told King Cogidubnus that he was in great danger.

Cephalus told the King that Memor was insane and forced him to make a poison.
He described how Memor reminded him of past debts, and when Cephalus didn't conform, Memor made a guard beat him.
Clephalus explained how Memor accused Cogidubnus of having a wicked character but tried to argue against him.

Cephalus wrote that he unwillingly made the poison but gave this letter to a loyal slave.
