  • In the 1941, a 10 years old child named Christopher was unable to fall asleep, so his grandfather, George, decided to tell him stories of real life historical moments from his youth, hoping that they will interest and educate him

  • "It all started with the Elections of 1860 when Lincoln became president"
  • "In Nov 7th, 1860, a man named Abraham Lincoln became president after fighting with Stephen Douglass during the ELECTION OF 1960. There was a debate between Lincoln and Douglass two years before, in 1858, about slavery and their opinions on it. Lincoln took a big risk by saying slavery was a moral evil which made people in south hate him."

  • "LINCOLN was a Republican who wanted to completely end slavery in America. Before he became president, I was working in my father's shop, I met him!! He was very polite and straightforward with his beliefs and opinions."

  • "At that time, Southerners didn't want slavery to end. They formed a group in the government called Democrats. The opposite groups is REPUBLICANS who were men living in the north who wanted to end slavery and have equality for all men."

  • "Not only was SOJOURNER TRUTH a black abolitionist, but she was also a women's rights advocate. Her most famous speech was called "Ain't I a woman." I wasn't present, but I remember hearing little bits of it."
