Storyboard Text

  • I wonder what makes the yeast in bread rise and fall.
  • I think it is the Charles's Law. I just can't remember what the law states.
  • I know it has something to do with a law.
  • How did you know that.
  • Oh that's right the Charles Law states that as temperature rises and falls so does volume.
  • Well what do you know about why yeast rises and falls?
  • Your fairy god mother. Haha! No I just walked in and over heard you talking about the Charles Law.
  • Who are you?
  • So the carbon dioxide bubbles within the yeast expands as the temperature rises. So as the temperature rises the bubble expand causing the bread or volume to also expand.
  • Cool
  • Charles Law states that the volume and temperature of the gas are directly proportional. It also states that as the temperature increases so will the volume. As the carbon dioxide bubbles are being heated up the temperature is rising so the bubbles are expanding causing the yeast to expand and there is now more volume.
  • I will have to research more about Charles Law.
