  • Life has become so hard for the 3rd estate . There is barely any money left to buy food. The King sucks all our money in form of taxes.
  • France was ruled by the Bourbon Dynasty .
  • John Locke and Jean Jacques Rousseau started to plant seeds of questioning in the minds of people. They stated that people should be classified on the basis of their merit not birth.
  • King Louis XVI ascended the throne in 1774 at the age of 20. He married Marie Antoinette of Austria through a matrimonial alliance. During King Louis XVI rein France was in a huge debt crisis. During his time of rein USA was fighting the Britishers hence France supported them in their struggle. After which France was in a debt of 3 livres.
  • The debt in France has increased drastically. I have a solution lets increase taxes on the commoners.

  • During 1789 the population of France was growing rapidly. The food demand was increasing rapidly and there was food shortage. There was shortage in labor in the agricultural fields. There were many food riots. These all led to Subsistence crisis in France.

  • I propose that there should be a contract with the people. This contract should be named as the social contract.
