- Stan, I am trying to rent a new apartment but I am not able to because of my Credit Score!
- Why does that matter?
- If you have poor credit score the bank assumes you can't make consistent payments on the money you owe. It also depends on how much money you spend on your credit cards.
- So you can't rent an apartment because the bank doesn't trust you to pay it off... How do you get bad credit to begin with?
- Well, first you have something called a credit report. That monitors what you buy and when you pay off your debts.for example, If you pay your bills on time your credit report improves. if you miss a payment, your score goes down because of your report.
- This is a lot to take in! I think we should go somewhere with fresh air.
- Is there a way to fix your credit score if it is low?
- Yes! although it may be hard to fix it, you can do it! you can improve your credit score by making payments on time, having a steady income, and making payments on all of your credit cards versus just one.
- I feel like I have learned so much about Credit Scores!
