  • Trying To cross the Delaware river
  • If we want to survive we need to put the river between us and the british
  • How are we going to get the boats sir?
  • Asking for Boats
  • Who's going to pay me?
  • The congress sir
  • Doubting They could win
  • General Washington realized that in order for them to survive they would have to put the river between them and the British, but they did not know how they were going to cross the river.
  • Writing Congress
  • We are in grave need of supplies.
  • They had to ask(more like tell) Robert McKenzie to borrow all his ships. Robert McKenzie was not happy about this he was asking who was paying him and getting angrier.
  • Getting back their lost men
  • They were doubting they could win because they were heavily outnumbered, the British had 20 thousand and they had less than two thousand.
  • Attack on Trenton
  • General Washington realized that they were in crucial need of supplies so he wrote a letter and sent it to the Congress asking for more clothes, food, and weapons.
  • General Washington had divided his forces into three and left two in New York, they were supposed to meet him, but they did not come eventually general Lee's team came, but he had been captured.
  • General Washington knew that the Hessians were throwing a big party for their success and that the night after their defenses would be down, so he ordered his troops to attack them and it was succesfull.
