  • Roman Roads
  • I will show you how the Romans built their roads! After all, that's what they're famous for!
  • Since there are Roman Roads all over the place, you must be wondering who builds them. We, the slaves, did. We spent five CENTURIES building a road system.
  • The Roman Roads were used to move armies, trade goods, and communicate with others. Married woman and government officials could travel using the roads.
  • After the Romans would build a ditch, they would put down a layer of mixed dirt and sand. They would use that as a foundation.
  • Roman Road Making Process
  • They would then put down another layer of small stones and gravel. They were halfway complete.
