I will show you how the Romans built their roads! After all, that's what they're famous for!
Since there are Roman Roads all over the place, you must be wondering who builds them. We, the slaves, did. We spent five CENTURIES building a road system.
The Roman Roads were used to move armies, trade goods, and communicate with others. Married woman and government officials could travel using the roads.
After the Romans would build a ditch, they would put down a layer of mixed dirt and sand. They would use that as a foundation.
Roman Road Making Process
They would then put down another layer of small stones and gravel. They were halfway complete.
