- The church lit on fire (chapter 6)
- The Hospital (chapter 7)
- The Rumble (chapter 9)
- Ponyboy and Johnny return alongside Dally to encounter the church they stayed in burning. They both ran inside the church to save the remaining children who were stuck inside while they were playing. During their exit, Johnny gets stuck since the roof of the church fell apart on top of him. Ponyboy was also quite badly hurt, but not as much as Johnny.
- Johnny Dies (chapter 9)
- Ponyboy was in the hospital and had just woken up. He was concerned about how Dally and Johnny were and where they were. Darry and Sodapop came too meet Pony. During their reunion, he realizes that Darry did care for him and didn’t hate him.
- Dally Dies (chapter 10)
- Ponyboy, the greasers and other greaser gangs fight against the socs as a result of Bobs death. Right before the rumbled started, Dally arrives and helps in the fight with one arm. During this, Darry encountered an old pal, Paul. They both were the first to start fighting, and the rest followed. This fight continued and lead to the success of the greasers, as they won the rumble. .
- The End
- After the rumble was over, Dally and Pony went to go see Johnny to inform him about the rumble and its outcome. Besides this news, Johnny mentions that he’ll die, and his last words are indicating towards Ponyboy. “Stay gold Ponyboy”. When Johnny dies, Dally goes on an emotional rampage and did a few things out of control which led to certain consequences.
- Johnny’s death was hard for Dally. Dallas robs a convenience store. The cops are after Dally, and he calls the Curtis residence to inform them that the cops are after him and he robbed a store. Dally tried making a run for it, but eventually the fuzz caught him. Dally points the gun towards the police officers only to get shot himself. He dies even before touching the ground
